FAQs.pdf

We’ve had several building fund campaigns. What accomplishments have been made?

All monies expended to date allowed us to:

  • Purchase the initial 13.5 acres of land
  • Apply for rezoning
  • Purchase an additional 1.5 acres of land in 2010 to expedite rezoning
  • Retain an architect and develop building plans
  • Maintain property renovations

Is this donation above and beyond my regular offering?

Yes. Your Fearless 300 donation is in addition to your regular offering.

Can I make a one-time donation and qualify for my name on the wall?

Yes, if you make a one-time donation of $1,200 or more between now and January 31, 2013, you will qualify to have your name on the donor wall.   For example, someone may want to use a tax refund to make a donation.

Can I use the auto draft system to make a one-time donation?

Yes.

Is an auto draft necessary for this donation?

No, it is not necessary.  However, it gives you the most control over your Fearless 300 donation.  You create your own profile and choose the amount, frequency and day of your deduction.  You have 24/7 access to reporting of your personal donations; and you can start, modify or stop your auto draft, at will.

How do I participate in the Fearless 300 without an auto draft?

You can use the existing gold colored building fund envelopes to donate to the Fearless 300 campaign at any time.  There will also be a special collection for the Fearless 300 campaign on the last Sunday of every month.  You can use this opportunity to contribute, as well.  Please note, if you donate via the envelopes, you must consistently donate, using the same name, in order to get credit for the total amount contributed.

Am I allowed to decrease my monthly draft if needed?

Yes.  You can login at any time and make any changes to your auto draft profile.

Am I able to draft any day of the month?

You have four options.  You may choose to have your donation deducted on the 1st, 5th, 10th,or  20th of each month.

How long will it take for the auto draft to begin?

It typically takes 3-5 business days for your auto draft profile to go into effect.

Will the draft continue for a year or end when I reach my contribution goal?

You determine the start and stop date when you create your profile. You are in control.

How do I stop my auto draft?

You may at any time login to your profile to cancel or temporarily suspend your donation.

Who should I contact about questions regarding an amount drafted from my account?

You may contact Steve Langford of the Finance Committee with any questions.  He is the ADA (Auto Draft Administrator) for West End Church of Christ.

Who is on the Finance Committee?

Anita Alexander, Willa Ball, April Howze, Steve Langford, Tammie Williams, Shaneil Wright and William Johnson

How do I contact the finance committee?

You can email them at finance@thewestender.com

How long does it take for a cancel request to be processed?

Allow up to 5 business days.

Do I pay fees associated with the auto draft process?

No.  You will not be charged any fees to donate.

Will these donations be tax deductible?

In most cases, donations to the Fearless 300 campaign are tax deductible.  We encourage you to consult a tax professional to determine your eligibility.

How is my information being secured?

Paper forms will be stored in a safe until which time they are shredded.  Online information is encrypted and secured using the same technology as Visa and Mastercard.

How much must I contribute to have my name on the wall in the new building?

You must donate $1,200 or more by January 31, 2013 to be listed on the donor wall.

How long will this campaign run?

It will run for twelve months and depending on the progress of the building project, may be extended.

Will my regular building fund contributions be credited toward the fearless campaign?

Yes, all building fund donations received from this date forward will be applied to the Fearless 300 campaign.  We have one building fund program and one bank account where all building funds are deposited.

How does it work to partner with someone?

To meet the $1,200 minimum donation for name placement on the donor wall, you may choose to partner with someone (maximum of 4 individuals per partnership).   If you decide to partner with someone, you must complete the partnership form located on the website and provide the names of all participants.  The partnership name (up to 30 characters) will be engraved on the donor wall, for example: John Doe & B. Smith, or The Smith Family.  For tax purposes, each individual in the partnership (does not apply to married couples) will need to donate their portion separately via auto draft or by using the building fund envelopes.  By January 31, 2013, the combined amount given by all participants in the partnership must total $1,200 or greater.

Please note: the restriction of only 4 participants per partnership does not apply to church committees.  You may participate as an individual and also in a partnership.

Will only 300 people be allowed to participate in the Fearless 300 campaign?

No, there is not a minimum or maximum number of individuals allowed to participate. We would like for every member to participate. Fearless 300 was chosen in the spirit of the story of Gideon and the ability of God to do great things with small numbers.

What if I relocate?

You can continue to support the campaign from any location and still have your name listed on the donor wall. Additionally, you have the option to cancel your donation at any time.

What If I change banks?

You can modify your auto draft profile to update your bank information.

What payment methods are available?

Online donations can be made by direct debit from a checking or savings account.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. A confirmation page with a message appears after a payment or donation is submitted. For individuals who have set up an auto draft profile, you will receive an email confirmation of all activity.

What is the status of the Harvest Fund?

All previous building fund campaigns have officially ended.  From this point on, all building fund donations will be applied to the Fearless 300 campaign.

If I already contributed to the Harvest Fund, can those funds be transferred to the Fearless 300 campaign?

Unfortunately not, this is a new initiative designed to achieve targeted financial goals.

Will these funds be used strictly for the expenses related to the new building?

All funds donated to the Fearless 300 campaign will be used exclusively for building related expenses.

Can I write one check for both my regular offering and the building fund?

To ensure that we accurately track your giving, it is preferred that you write two separate checks, one for each offering.

If I don’t participate today, can I sign up later?

Yes.  You can begin giving whenever you decide.  However, you must meet the monetary requirements by January 31, 2013, to qualify for your name on the donor wall.  See chart below:

In a simplistic format, participants will learn what the Bible teaches concerning salvation.

The entire call will last for approximately 30 minutes with the first 25 minutes being the actual Bible study and the last 5 minutes question-and-answer. Pray that God will bless our efforts that this might become a successful tool by which many people may establish a relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ.
