Deacon – Retention

My father was my spiritual inspiration and helped bring me to Christ. Growing up my father was a deacon in the church. I watched him closely at an early age, which led to my desire to serve the Lord. During my sophomore year in high school, I began studying the Word more closely and later, once I understood the process of salvation, I quickly obeyed the gospel. So when I became of age and met the biblical qualifications, I pursued the office of a deacon.

My favorite scripture is Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” As a Christian, I strive to live by the example in which God has instructed me to live. I enjoy reading the scriptures, watching sports, especially football and getting to know my West End family.

I was born on October 2, 1965 and raised in both Columbus, GA, and Phenix City, AL.  I am blessed to have found the best partner in Yonita Rowell, whom I married in 2000.  We have two beautiful daughters.
