  Congregational Goals for 2007 and Beyond

Achieving the goals for West End must include active participation from the entire West End Family. Our success in striving to work scripturally for the Lord includes an investment of our time, financial support, and diligent prayers!

In 2007 we will see visible and measurable evidence of progress in the following five stated goals:

Goal 1 – Zone Ministry Development:

  • Implement new zone program to include each West End ministries within each specified zone

  • Evidenced by zone participation forms you have seen and are filling out and returning

  • Your individual participation in the areas in and around your community is KEY to the success of the zone ministry

Goal 2 – Congregational Bible study on how church members are instructed to work with church leadership

  • Meet semi-annually on Wednesday nights as a series of studies. Presentations in January 2007 and July 2007.

  • Supporting series of pulpit lessons designed to inform and motivate members to active evangelistic participation.

Goal 3 – Communication/Fellowship Initiative: Communicate congregational goals by doing the following:

  • Present 2007 goals at annual congregation meeting

  • Publish goals in a bulletin insert in January 2007 and publish the West End web site.

  • Communicate goal progress from the pulpit and publish updated information on our progress in a bulletin insert in April, July, and October.

  • Provide a monthly letter from the elders addressed to members of the congregation to inform, encourage and solicit your participation in church activities, the zone program & related congregational activities

  • Endeavoring to support all congregational activities through physical presence and/or participation.

  • Creating elder/member fellowship at the church building, through zone meeting activities and in-home visitation.

  • Combining worship services every fifth Sunday (April, July, September)

Goal 4 – Refine the education program

  • Teacher training program

  • Teacher appreciation/recognition

  • Student encouragement activities

  • Continuous developmental curriculum improvement

Goal 5 – Develop 1 to 10 year master plan as roadmap to West End’s future

For 2007

  • Develop a master relocation plan

  • Creatively develop additional temporary parking to alleviate existing parking shortfalls

Three-Year (2008 to 2010)

  • Provide contribution roadmap to finance West End’s relocation with associated visuals on progress towards achieving funding goals

  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the political environment at City Hall (emphasis on Planning and Zoning Departments)

  • Develop and maintain a formal Bible Study university program affiliation

  • Identify and purchase new church site, and hold groundbreaking (anticipated 18-month construction period

  • Implement a television/radio ministry

Five-Year (2011 to 2012)

  • Move into new building

Ten Years (2013 to 2017)

  • Commence building expansion with vision to include senior citizens housing, elementary school, leadership institute and Bible college.
