What is the event?
The Southeastern Youth for Christ Conference is
held annually in various states in the southeast generally from Virginia to
Louisiana.
Where will it be held?
The Conference will be held on the campus of
Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA. Fort Valley State
University is about 100 miles south of Atlanta and about 15 miles off of
I-75.
What ages can attend?
West End sends ages 7-21 year olds.
When is the conference?
July 19-24 (Monday through Saturday). Saturday
is generally the departure day. Some congregations leave on Friday afternoon
or early evening.
What are the prices?
Before May 30:

Why
is the price so high?
Actually the price is quite a value. The price
include breakfast, lunch, and dinner for five days, all sports activities,
all classes and competitions, lodging in college dorms (probably two persons
to a room).
What about early registration?
Early registration is our goal. If we can
achieve it, that is good. Early registration requires a non-refundable $50
deposit. West End will begin early sign up and taking early registration
fees beginning in mid-February. We encourage everyone to sign up and commit
now.

What are the
accommodations?
Each congregation is assigned to rooms in the
college dorms. Boys and girls are housed in separate buildings.
What activities occur at the conference?
What activities occur at the conference?
Activities throughout the week include bible
classes, nightly sports competitions, fashion show, bible bowl, track and
field competitions, speech competitions, nightly youth speakers, special
quest speakers for the youth, swimming, and more.
How do we get there?
We've budgeted for reserving one 57-passenger
charter bus.
What about food?
All meals are provided the the conference. Each
day, at set times, the youth are served a full breakfast, lunch and dinner. |
